TEC/BASE® 5180 Basecoat Transparent 1K / 2K Adhesion Promoter is a unique product that offers the benefits of an adhesion promoter and the versatility of a transparent basecoat. 5180 can be used as a 1K product to improve adhesion of TEC/BASE® basecoat color, while improving the basecoat blending characteristics. 5180 provides TEC/BASE® basecoat color with a uniform ground coat to blend into. 5180 may also be integrated into the basecoat when blending to reduce the pigment load while maintaining body. Finally, 5180 can be applied over the basecoat to check uniformity of the blend and overall metallic appearance before clearcoating. Using the 2K option, 5180 improves adhesion of TEC/BASE® basecoat or 2K Urethane Single Stage to properly prepared OEM E-coat (new parts). 5180 can be quickly recoated "wet-on-wet" in as little as 5 – 15 minutes.
